Newark Museum

The Newark Museum is NJ’s largest museum boasting exhibits that span the world. Membership and entry is FREE for Newark residents! Children friendly exhibits include Dynamic Earth with animals and nature, The Maker Space with trains, arts, blocks, legos and more to explore, a Planetarium and much more! MUSEUM HOURS
Wednesday- Sunday; 12-5pm
Closed Mondays & Tuesdays (except for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day) New Year’s Day, July 4, Thanksgiving Day and December 25. 

ADMISSION
Admission and Membership is ALWAYS FREE for Newark residents
Planetarium admission is extra: Adults $6, Children under 12 $4 Members: Adults $4, children under 12 $3

PARKING

• Street parking available in metered spots nearby on Washington Street, Halsey Street, University Ave.
• On-Site Parking
  Parking immediately behind the Museum is available for a fee. Cash, credit card or debit card accepted. Please note that the parking facility is not operated by the Newark Museum, and rates are subject to change without notice.
  Weekdays: $6 first hour; $10 up to 5 hours; $16 max to close; $16 oversized vehicles
  Weekends: $6 first hour; $9 daily rate, max to close; $16 oversized vehicles (Oversized vehicles are over 70” length (ex. Outback, Cherokee, Explorer). The RAV 4 and smaller SUVs are regular rates. Events have no oversized rate.)

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

• From Broad Street Station: Walk 3 blocks south on Broad Street to Washington Street then 2 blocks.
• From Newark Penn Station: Take the light rail, which stops near the Museum. Make sure to validate your ticket before boarding the light rail.
• Light Rail: Traveling from Newark Penn Station: Board the Broad Street Station line of The Newark Light Rail. Get off at the Atlantic Street stop. Proceed left to Bridge Street. At the intersection, cross over Atlantic Street and continue up one block to Broad Street. Cross Broad Street to the northern end of Washington Park at Washington Street. The Museum is down two blocks.
