Office of Early Childhood is committed to providing every preschool child with a high quality comprehensive preschool education by ensuring equal access to opportunity to learn and by providing developmentally appropriate resources and services. There are over 90 preschools in Newark that is available for free to ALL Newark children that are age 3, by October 1.

Mission: The Newark Public Schools Office of Early Childhood is committed to creating and sustaining a high quality preschool program which supports the development of the whole child and meets the individual needs of each child. The Office of Early Childhood encourages positive interactions between family, school, and the community and respects the role of the family as the primary teachers of their children. Through the commitment and partnership, preschool children will have an opportunity to become productive citizen and eager, life-long learners.
